Respite Tree

The wind picks up, enveloping me in its cold embrace, my tree branch swaying ever so lightly. Sitting high in the tree, I gaze at the endless cascade of magnificent stars stretching above me. The sweet smell of the leaves and fresh air clears my mind of the day's concerns. Rough bark digs into my back as I lounge in my seat made of leaves and sharp sticks as crickets chirp in the distance.

  1. That was really good, Nick!

Have you read Flipped? A girl in that book really liked sitting in trees, too.

The description was incredible. I feel like jumping in the nearest shrub. :]
